School History

Our Lady of Fatima School, designed by architect Robert Van Summern, a parishioner, opened its doors in September 1962 to four classes, grades one to four. It was founded to serve the community of Wilton and the parish of Our Lady of Fatima. During each succeeding year a new grade was added and in June 1966 the first graduation ceremony was conducted. A morning Kindergarten was initiated in 1976 and a Pre-School was added in 1990. The After School Program was added in 1991 for assistance to those parents who work and need child care beyond the school day. Our Lady of Fatima School celebrated its 50th anniversary of providing excellent Catholic education to thousands of students in 2013!
Our Lady of Fatima School operates under the guidelines and policies of the Diocese of Bridgeport and the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools. In 2009, the school was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education. Our current enrollment is 143 students in grades PreK4 through 8th grade with one homeroom for each grade level. Our school attracts families from many surrounding towns with the majority from Norwalk and Wilton. Our Lady of Fatima School community takes pride in being a mission driven school with strong Catholic identity. This makes us a very special place where parents feel the spiritual and academic education of their children is of primary importance. Our Lady of Fatima School provides an excellent education in a safe environment based on the Gospel values and the teachings of our Catholic faith.
