Our primary school program features strong academic instruction in all subjects. Our Kindergarten program is a full-day program . The entire OLF faculty is committed to developing an outstanding program of curricula across the school divisions that is developmentally appropriate, challenging, creative, relevant, and enlightened.
In Kindergarten, the children expand on their Pre-Kindergarten experience by emphasizing writing, putting letters together, forming words, and reading books at their own level. Students are printing daily, and calendar and time skills are practiced.
In Grade 1, the classroom is a little more structured but remains creative and active! Children review their calendar and general math concepts are introduced and reinforced. Grade 2 introduces more mathematics and literacy skills. Our program also provides a more structured approach to science and social studies.
Creating a caring and supporting environment for our students will always be our focus. Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and the love of learning all come into play as we educate with our developmentally appropriate core curriculum as well as instill the values of faith, knoweledge, and respect.
